Big Window

a quick glimpse of something beautiful

The Groggy Parade by Shanna Compton

In his farthest mind

a summer

In his nearest

something white

in flake form

After a while
a place gets crowded
& begins to feel like a body

under revision by a virus

He’s goofy on cold&flu

dreaming of

hallways

smokestacks

cartoon monsters

Rows of windows

studded with cooling units

A fringe of trees

by Shanna Compton
published in Absent Magazine
